  3.                   "A SEXUAL OBSESSION"

  5. Welcome to the Digital-XTC CD-ROM.  This CD-ROM provides 
  6. "A SEXUAL OBSESSION" CD-Rom viewers with video of unequaled quality and pleasure. This CD-Rom plays to PC/AT's with high color display
  7. cards or standard VGA display cards that are supported with a VESA 
  8. driver.
  9.  
  10.                 INSTALLATION FILE FOR D-XTC CD-ROMS!
  11.  
  12. To configure your PC with Expanded Memory, make sure your Config.sys
  13. file has the following:
  14.     DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
  15.     DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE 2048 FRAME=e000 RAM
  16. If you use QEMM: 
  17.     DEVICE=C:\QEMM\QEMM386.SYS RAM
  18.         (Instead of HIMEM.SYS and EMM386.EXE)
  19. If you are using any other type of memory manager you must look in 
  20. your manual for the appropriate line to be added to your Config.Sys.
  21.  
  22. 1.  Insert the D-XTC CD-Rom into your CD-ROM drive
  23.  
  24. 2.  Access your CD-ROM drive [e.g. E: F: <enter>]
  25.  
  26. 3.  At the prompt for the system, type "INSTALL D C <enter>". 
  27.     This Example is if your D drive is a CD-Rom drive and you wish 
  28.     to install the Directory to the C Drive. Follow Instructions.
  29.     [e.g. D E <enter>] - Do not use a colon after the CD-ROM 
  30.     drive letter 
  31.  
  32. 4.  Once installation is finished a D_XTC directory will be 
  33.     created on the Hard drive. 
  34.  
  35. 5.  To start "A Sexual Obsession" go to the D_XTC directory on 
  36.     your Hard Drive and type "GO" <enter>.
  37.  
  38. 6.) If you do not have the DOS directory in your path you may get
  39.     a bad command when you run the install -
  40.         - The files that need to be copied are:
  41.         - TMMPLAY.EXE & .GXL
  42.         - ?.GFT
  43.         - TESTAUD.EXE
  44.         - TEST.WAV
  45.         - THE GO.BAT FILE FROM THE ?PLAY DIR. 
  46.                 - CD-ROM = D - GO TO DPLAY DIR; ETC..
  47.         - README.TXT
  48.  
  49. 7.)If your Hard drive is something other than the "C" drive - run 
  50.    the install as noted, with one exception:
  51.     Example: INSTALL F D
  52.         THIS IS FOR A CD-ROM OF F AND HARD DRIVE OF D
  53.         * ONCE THE INSTALL IS FINISHED YOU MUST EDIT THE 
  54.           GO.BAT FILE - 
  55.             CLS
  56.             @ ECHO OFF
  57.             SET TMMLIB=D:\D_XTC
  58.             TMMPLAY F:\OPEN.TMM
  59.  
  60.         * YOU MUST EDIT THE TMMLIB=?:\D_XTC LINE *
  61.  
  62. 8.) The Audio test program is run by typing TESTAUD TEST.WAV
  63.     This will configure the TMMPLAY to run with your Audio Card.
  64.         This test will create an AUDIO.CFG File, If you need
  65.         to change this file, or if the audio test does not
  66.         recognize your audio card correctly, follow these
  67.         instructions.
  68.     The Audio.Cfg file consists of the following:
  69.         
  70.         Card No=2
  71.         BaseIO=220
  72.         DMA=1
  73.         IRQ=7
  74.     
  75.     (This would be for a SoundBlaster Card at Base IO=220, DMA=1, 
  76.      IRQ=7)
  77.         You can change this to match the settings on your audio
  78.         card as follows:
  79.             Card No=1 (for Media Vision)
  80.             Card No=2 (for Soundblaster)
  81.             Card No=3 (for Adlib)
  82.             Card No=4 (for Microsoft SoundSystem)
  83.             Set BaseIO, DMA, IRQ to your settings on your Audio 
  84.             Card.
  85.         This should take care of any audio problems.
  86.     - If you have a ProAudio Spectrum 16 Soundcard that can be set up 
  87.       as a Soundblaster - you must set the mvsound.sys with s:0 and t:1
  88.         to get best sound
  89.     - If you have the Soundblaster Pro ASP: you must set your card at 
  90.       IRQ=7 and DMA=1
  91.

  99.     Your video card needs to be VESA compliant.  Most cards 
  100.     require drivers loaded as TSRs during boot.  If you do 
  101.     not have one of these drivers, please contact the card 
  102.     manufacturer.
  103.  
  104.     Common questions and problems:

  106.     1.) The image is very poor - few colors and bad resolution.
  107.       
  108.       You have a non-VESA card or the VESA driver is not 
  109.       loaded when running the program.  Add the driver to 
  110.       your Autoexec.Bat

  204. this disk, you will need to run the installation again.

  206. NOTE: If the CD-ROM does not run with your Video Card you may
  207. need to add the appropriate VESA drivers for your system.
